The Verde Valley is nestled between the red rocks and Mogollon
Rim to the North and East and the Black Hills and Mingus Mountains
to the South and West. The Verde River runs through the valley
northwest to southeast. Nearly 80% of the 714 Square miles
is National Forest and only about 17% of the Verde Valley
is privately owned.
The Verde Valley includes the red rock city
of Sedona, the old mining towns of Jerome and Clarkdale, the
historic communities of Camp Verde, Cornville, and Lake Montezuma,
and the “hub” of it all, the city of Cottonwood.
With its array of physical beauty and abundance
of natural amenities the Verde Valley continues to grow and
lure tourism.
